Our Story

In 3 Minds Psychology Services is a family run private psychology practice in Geraldton and was founded by Amy Seear in 2010. Starting as a one woman practice, over time the practice has grown into a space we are all very proud of. Our team of clinicians have all been hand selected and we pride ourselves on being able to offer a variety of therapy modalities to a diverse range of clients within our community.

Our aim has always been to provide an inclusive, caring and nurturing space where each individuals therapy needs can be met in a professional and personalised mannerAs our journey evolves, we will continue to work towards meeting the needs of our clients, clinicians and the community.

Amy Seear

Senior Psychologist

Amy is our senior psychologist and is qualified in various therapeutic modalities including EMDR. Amy offers counselling to children, adolescents and adults and is experienced in treating a range of conditions including depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, emotional dysregulation, pathological demand avoidance & behaviour management. Amy also works closely with the Autism community and undertakes multidisciplinary assessments for Autism and ADHD.

As well as continuing her own professional training, Amy offers professional development opportunities in the areas of ADHD & Autism, Trauma Informed Practices, Anxiety and Borderline Personality Disorder. Amy is also Dare to Lead TM  Trained (based on Brene Brown's research) and has completed the Collaborative and Proactive Solutions training with Ross Greene (psychologist/author).

Alison Owens

Counsellor

Alison is our resident Counsellor and Program Coordinator and recently completed her Honours in Psychology. Alison has years of experience in counselling using various therapeutic approaches including CBT and Play Therapy. Alison works with children from aged 4 years, through to adolescence and into young adulthood and is very knowledgeable in the areas of childhood anxiety, trauma and behavioural concerns. 

 

Alison has a wealth of knowledge about the group programs we offer and continues to upskill in the areas of program facilitation and her own professional learning. Alison has also completed the Collaborative and Proactive Solutions training with Ross Greene. â€‹

Alison will be working as a Provisional Psychology in 2025.

Charrisse Van Jaarsveld

Clinical Psychologist

Charrisse Van Jaarsveld is an AHPRA registered clinical psychologist and comes with more than 15 years of clinical experience in all areas of psychology and mental health. She has a keen interest in trauma and grief, having worked with the South African defence force for many years.

​

Charrisse is a certified Brain Working Recursive Therapy (BWRT) practitioner, a modality that can be used to treat a variety of mental health conditions for adults. BWRT is particularly effective for trauma and grief presentations. Charrisse has also recently undertaken comprehensive training in the area of eating disorders and is accepting new clients with disordered eating patterns.

 

Charrisse has availability for private, Medicare, NDIS and some EAP clients and is available for sessions with children (aged 10 and over), adolescents and adults.

Bruce White

Practice Manager

Bruce completed his Honours in Psychology in 2024 and will commence his Provisional Psychology training in 2025. He is our highly efficient and friendly Practice Manager and is available to answer any telephone or email enquiries! 

 

Bruce wears many hats at our practice including IT person, handyman, HR consultant and relationships coordinator. Bruce has a long history working within the Justice department as well as in the rehabilitation sector and Child Protection.

 

Bruce currently works with some NDIS and Child Protection clients in a mentoring/therapy assistant capacity.  With a particular interest in working with front line personnel, Bruce will be able for clinical work in near future.
